HOW TO LINK AADHAAR CARD TO YOUR MOBILE NUMBER

Online Mode of Aadhaar and Mobile Number Linking by Using OTP:

Using this method subscribers can complete the linking process sitting at the comforts of home. Given below are the step-by-step procedure of linking.

•  Visit the telecom subscriber’s online portal.
• You should enter the mobile number that is to be Aadhaar linked. 
• The telecom provider will then send an OTP to the mobile number.
• You should enter the OTP and click on “Submit” to proceed further.
•  A consent message will be displayed on the screen. Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number carefully that is to be linked.
• The telecom company then sends a request to UIDAI for OTP generation.
• You will receive a consent message from UIDAI about the e-KYC details. Check those thoroughly.
• Accept all the terms and conditions and enter the OTP.
• On completing this, you will receive a confirmation message about your Aadhaar and phone number re-verification.

SMS Based Aadhaar and SIM Card Verification by Using OTP;

Below mentioned are the steps that will help a subscriber link the Aadhaar number to the SIM card by visiting a store and sharing the OTP.

Step 1: You should visit the nearest telecom operator.

Step 2: Request the executive at the store for Aadhaar and mobile linking.

Step 3: Submit the mobile number and Aadhaar card details correctly to the store executive.

Step 3: Using the re-verification application, the store executive will then provide a 4-digit verification code that is an OTP to your mobile number.

Step 4: Next, you have to submit the OTP to store executive and provide biometrics.

Linking Aadhaar to Mobile Number by Using IVR;

The government of India to help all the telecom subscribers has come up with a single number for linking Aadhaar to SIM using interactive voice response(IVR) services. All the pre-paid as well as postpaid subscribers should follow the below mentioned steps to seed Aadhaar with phone number.

1. Dial in the toll-free number 14546 from a mobile phone.
2. The IVR (interactive voice response) system will then verify whether you are an Indian citizen or an NRI. If you are an Indian nationality, click on 1.
3.  The IVR will then ask you to share your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
4. The system will then repeat the last four-digits of the Aadhaar number. Follow it carefully to avoid any errors and press on 1 to confirm.
5. Next, the IVR will ask to share the mobile number. The UIDAI will then send an OTP to the mobile number.
6. A consent message will be played on the IVR that will ask you to allow the telecom operator to use your name, photo and date of birth mentioned on the UIDAI database. Confirm that.
7. Enter the OTP correctly.
8. On entering the OTP, press on 1 to complete the Aadhaar and mobile number re-verification.

Offline Mode of Aadhaar and Phone Number Linking:

It is an easy way to link Aadhaar and mobile number. Follow the steps below to link Aadhaar and mobile number.

1. Visit the UIDAI’s website- uidai.gov.in.
2. Under “Aadhaar Update” column, click on “Address Update request by post”.
3. It gets directed to a new page with the Aadhaar update form.
4. Download the form.
5. Enter all the details like name and address. Providing mobile number is mandatory.
6. Attach the self-attested copies of supporting documents like proof of address.
7. Your biometric verification will be done at the enrollment centre. Upon authentication, you will receive an acknowledgement slip.
8. Once UIDAI verifies the information provided, Aadhaar and SIM gets linked and you will receive a confirmation within 10 working days.
